There appear to be four distinct dies for the SEND GREETINGS BY TELEGRAM slogan - in addition to the use of circles or boxes and the inscriptions at the base therein. The two main variations are identified:

  • by the size of the letters;
  • through considering the position of the word BY relative to the G of TELEGRAM.
Die 1:
5 mm letters
.
  • the G is well to the left of BY below;

  • the R and B and E are all approximately aligned;

  • the Y (of BY) is placed to the left of G of TELEGRAM;

  • the base of the B of BY slopes upwards.
5 mm
Die 2:
4 mm letters.

The G for this and the remaining dies is much rounder.

  • the B (of BY) is under the GR (of GREETINGS) - sometimes just under the R;

  • the B (of BY) significantly overlaps the E of TELEGRAM below;

  • the Y (of BY) extends to overlap the 2nd E above and is over the G below.
Mid G
Die 3:

  • the Y (of BY) is at or to the right of the G below.
